I’ve participated in deep conversation with very few people in my life, but when I do, they are my most treasured moments with the most cherished people. I mostly internalize everything. I rarely pay any attention to celebrities, celebrity gossip sites or magazines because frankly, I rarely trust anyone’s opinion. Many years ago, I had John Mayer pegged as a pretty boy pop singer/songwriter solely writing songs to acquire an abundance of college cooze and cash. (See Also: Your body is a wonderland) Then I read somewhere that he had a genuine interest in graphic design. I became very interested to see some of his work. I couldn’t find much design work but I did come across a short lived VH1 show entitled “John Mayer has a TV show” on a german file sharing site. The piece I ended up watching was pure gold and completely changed my view of John Mayer as a human being. Fast forward a couple years to a time where a couple of my close friends are friends with Mayer himself, once again validating his radness and hilarity. Now he’s got a Tumblr and he has covered multiple topics that I have internally dissected hundreds of times throughout my life. In short, I guess I’m saying I need to stop judging a book by its cover because John Mayer gets “it”. Read my favorites Here & Here. No homo.
